What better way to celebrate the 400 year anniversary of the city of Gothenburg than by composing a participatory concert?
In 2021 the city of Gothenburg, Sweden, celebrated the 400 years of existence and "The City Composing" was invited to be part of the program! This time the project was a collaboration between the ensemble Mimitabu, the composer Johan Svensson and Hara Alonso.

Instead of placing the music notebooks we designed an online platform to participate, using emojis, notes and colors: https://thecitycomposinggothenburg.com
During one week the musicians and composers worked together in the scores and the final concert happened the 13th of September in a beautiful church, Hagakyrkan.
This project was possible thanks to Levande Musik, Musikverket and Göteborg Stad. Special thanks to the students of Hulebäck Gymnasiet who came to the rehearsals and participated with many of the scores
